People usually assume the decoder has failed. More often it is the dish: knocked out of alignment, a corroded connection, water in the cable, or something that has grown in front of it since the day it went up.
That is worth knowing before you replace equipment that was working fine. We check the whole path — dish, alignment, cabling and connections — before telling you anything needs replacing.
