Landlines & VoIP

Packages, numbers and cloud PBX

What do the landline packages cost?

There are four monthly packages:

  • 150 minutes + landline number — R155 per month
  • 300 minutes + landline number — R250 per month
  • 600 minutes + landline number — R380 per month
  • 1000 minutes + landline number — R470 per month

Prices include VAT. See the packages in full.

What is included in the monthly fee?

Every package includes 24/7 technical support, management of your landline, and cloud PBX access — as well as the landline number itself and the minutes in the package.

Do I get a real landline number?

Yes. A landline number is included in every package. It is not an optional extra.

What is a cloud PBX?

A PBX is the switchboard that sits behind a business phone number. Traditionally it was a physical box in the building. A cloud PBX does the same job from the internet instead, which means your phone system is not tied to one desk, one handset or one building.

Cloud PBX access is included in every one of our landline packages.

Do I need an internet connection for a VoIP landline?

Yes. VoIP calls travel over an internet connection rather than a copper phone line. If you do not have a connection, or the one you have is not reliable enough, we can supply fibre or LTE as part of the same job. See fibre & LTE.

Can I move to a bigger package later?

There are four packages so there is room to move up as your call volume grows. For the specifics of changing your package mid-term, call or WhatsApp us on 060 867 4301 — we would rather tell you the actual terms than guess here.

Pay@ & payments

Collections, stores and card facilities

What is Pay@?

Pay@ is a collections system that lets your clients pay you in cash at participating retail stores, instead of having to come to you or make a bank transfer. The payment is confirmed and reconciled back to your account.

Read more about Pay@ payment solutions.

Where can my clients pay?

At participating retail stores across South Africa. The partner retail network shown in Harrington Technologies’ material includes Shoprite, Checkers, Pick n Pay, Boxer, SPAR, PEP, Ackermans, Game and Usave.

Which stores apply depends on the collection package you take. Retail availability can change, so confirm the current list with us before signing up.

Do my clients need a bank account?

No. That is the point of it. A customer who does not bank, or would rather not use their account, can still pay you in cash and have it recorded properly against their account.

What do the collection packages cost?

There are two:

  • Premium Package — R2000 once off + R500 monthly premium
  • Standard Package — R1000 once off + R250 monthly premium

The difference is which retail stores your clients can pay at. See both store lists.

How do I know when a client has paid?

Payments are confirmed and reconciled to your account, so you can see where each account stands rather than waiting to be told.

Can I take card payments at my own counter too?

Yes. POS sales and card setup are a separate service we offer, and most businesses want both: card at the counter for customers standing in front of you, and Pay@ for customers settling accounts from wherever they are. See POS & card setup.

Installations & IT

DStv, cameras and computers

Do you install DStv?

Yes — new installations, signal fixing on existing setups, and Extra View so more than one room can watch. See DStv installation.

We handle the installation and signal work. Your DStv subscription itself stays between you and MultiChoice.

My DStv picture keeps breaking up. Is my decoder broken?

Often not. A poor picture is more commonly a dish that has moved out of alignment, a corroded connection, water in the cable, or something that has grown in front of the dish since it was installed. It is worth having it checked before replacing equipment that may be working fine.

Do you install CCTV cameras?

Yes, for homes and business premises, with remote monitoring set up so you can view the cameras when you are not on site. See CCTV & security.

Do you fix computers?

Yes. PC support, software installation and setup, and troubleshooting when something has stopped and nobody can tell you why. See IT systems & support.

Practical questions

Areas, pricing and getting hold of us

Which areas do you cover?

Setlagole, Kraaipan, Madibogo and the surrounding areas for anything that needs someone on site. Pay@ payment collection reaches your clients nationwide, wherever there is a participating retail store.

If you are not sure whether you fall inside “surrounds”, ask us rather than guessing. See service areas.

What does CCTV, IT or DStv work cost?

Those are quoted per job, because the cost depends on the site — how many cameras, how much cabling, whether it is a new installation or a repair. Tell us what you need and we will come back to you with what it involves before anything starts.

The landline packages are the exception: those are fixed monthly prices, published on this site.

Is the 24/7 support included in everything?

The 24/7 technical support is included in the monthly landline packages and covers your landline service and the cloud PBX behind it. Other work — a general IT call-out, a CCTV fault, a DStv signal problem — is quoted as its own job. We will tell you which one you are asking for before we start.

How do I get hold of you?

One number for both calls and WhatsApp: 060 867 4301.

By e-mail: info@harringtontech.co.za for general enquiries, or solutions@harringtontech.co.za for payment solutions.
